Adventure Theatre’s Education Department and The Department of Recreation of Montgomery County launch the first 10-Minute Anti-Bullying New Play Contest, sponsored by Monument Bank. All Montgomery County Middle School students are invited to submit original 10-minute plays to a panel of theatre professionals.

A first, second and third place winner will be chosen and will receive:
- Gift cards courtesy Monument Bank (in increments of $100, $50, $25, respectively);
- A private dramaturgy session alongside professional playwrights; and
- The opportunity to have their play directed and performed in a staged reading by professional D.C. thespians in a Festival alongside works of professional playwrights.

A series of free playwriting workshops will be held in December 2011. Interested middle school students are welcome to attend for an interactive, enjoyable and informative tutorial on playwriting. Reservations required. See below for dates and times.
